The Muslim Students Association at Michigan Technological University was first founded in 1989 by a group of enthusiastic Muslim students. The first committee served the small but demanding Muslim community here very effectively. Not only did they helped the Muslim students and family in settling down but also a lot of work that would ensure a better Islamic way of living for all the Muslims. One such example of their work is the donations that they collected for the purpose of building a mosque in Houghton.
Then there was a short period of inactivity when members of the first committee graduated, however the organization was reactivated again by some devoted Muslim students in 1997. This time the MSA came back with a force, and thanks to those hardworking devoted committee members, it got a high reputation of being an active on campus student organization here at Michigan Tech. MSA is registered with MTU as an official student organization and is actively engaged in helping Muslim community living their lives according to Islam.
Given below is a listing of the yearly office holders. However these are not the only people who made MSA a succesful organization, we all owe to all the muslims and non-muslims who helped the infant MSA with their time, devotion and donations and made it a self supported organization.
